DISNEY GIVES BACK BLOG HOP
Welcome to the Disney Gives Back Blog Hop. This wonderful blog hop was created out of a desire to give back to a wonderful organization called Crops of Luv. Throughout the hop, you will see layouts from talented crafters who have chosen to give back and help make these children's days brighter.
Crops of Luv makes albums for Make A Wish Albums for families who go to Disneyland or World. Please visit and support each crafter and also if you would like to make layouts for Crops of Luv you can do so by contacting....Crops of Luv.
If you came here from Nancie's page then you are in the right place. If you just happened upon this blog by email or web surfing, please go back to the beginning at Shawnee's page and visit the hop from the beginning. You don't want to miss out on any of these amazing layouts.
Our grand prize blog candy is a set of Stamps from CardzTV Stamps set Encouraging Thoughts. This is one of my favorite stamp sets that Mary has made this far. You get one entry for hopping with us and a 2nd entry if you make a 2 page layout for Crops of Luv and mail it. Post your layout to the Mr. Linky on Shawnee's page then mail your layout to:

This layout is something I had made about 3 years ago. I knew that I had made it for a reason, I just didn't know what it was at the time! I made duplicate copies to be mailed along with this one. I'm hoping they can use them in more than one album. Please enjoy!
Now you are onto our next crafty friend Claire

Thursday Cartridge Showcase - Mickey & Friends
The cartridge I’ve chosen to showcase is Mickey & Friends for the Thursday Cartridge Showcase with the CWC Design Team. This was one of the very first cartridges I bought.
When you think of Mickey & Friends, your first thought is Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto…..I thought I’d show you what else is on the cartridge other than the obvious.
The first layout features Chip & Dale and is titled “Nuts About U”. All the paper used is DCWV and the ribbon used is American Crafts premium ribbon. (Found and excellent sale at TJ Maxx, Marshall’s for those of you that don’t have TJ Maxx!). The clouds are double cut to add depth.
The second layout is “My Little Glamour Girl” for my glamour girl granddaughter Daria. She is always dolling herself up. Again I have used DCWV paper, including the glitter paper on the diamond rings, and American Crafts premium ribbon.
And last but not least, “Boys and their Toys” is for my nephew Griffin. He is so into trucks, cars, boats and trains. The paper is DCWV and the ribbon is American Crafts premium ribbon.
I think I’ve shown how fun this cartridge is outside the obvious. All these wonderful hidden cuts. We encourage you to join in our fun and link up your own challenge-themed project at CWC.
Thank you!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Suess Challenge
For those of you that aren't aware, I was selected to be a designer for the CWC (Cooking With Cricut) Design team for 2012. The link to the blog is on the right side of my blog.
For my first challenge, Happy Birthday, Dr. Suess. The challenge was to create a layout that encourages reading. This layout includes the "The Cat With Hat Dr. Suess file" from www.Papercraftingworld.com.
Here is my layout:
The story behind this layout: My husband and I went to Florida on vacation a couple years ago. He is used to reading to our granddaughter at bedtime on the weekends. Because of our trip, he wasn't going to be home. They decided the best way to handle it was to have Pap take books to Florida with him to read. My granddaughter had the same books with her. Every night Pap would call her and they would read to each other on the phone. All the books were Dr. Suess!
Thank you for allowing me to share my layout and my story. I can't wait to find where I put the pictures that will go on this layout.

Here is my layout:
The blue background paper is DCWV, the Dr Suess paper is some paper I found on clearance at Michael's a couple years ago, the other colors are some 8 1/2 x 11 paper I have stashed around the house. The charm was ordered from Oriental Trading.

Happy New Year everyone…sorry I haven’t posted sooner. Before Christmas I was rather busy with the afgans I made for all my sisters (Sherri, I promise, yours will be on it’s way!). I still do not have pictures of all of them, someone forgot to take them before she wrapped the boxes!!
Here are some of the layouts I’ve worked on so far in 2012. Some are with pics AND journaling! There is a site that just totally inspired me to scrap away. If I could find it again, I would give credit where credit is due but unfortunately, I did not bookmark the page! They sell page kits and the owner of the blog is very talented!! If I can find her again, I will add her name and a link to her website.
Enjoy!
This last layout isn’t finished yet, I still need to add the rest of the words and the embellishments but I wanted to share as far as what it is done.
I have two other layouts as well but unfortunately my camera is thinking for me and turned them sideways. As soon as I get them turned the way they should be I will post them as well.
